“Snapshot Saturday”

A bobwhite quail hung from a trade ax.

A quail covey flushed in the shadow of the section oak. Gray lightning bolts exploded in all directions. “Kla-whoosh BOOM!” The post hunter’s Northwest gun roared and the death bees swarmed… Old Northwest Territory, in the Year of our Lord, 1798.
