A white wedge tent stands on two ridges from the River Raisin.

A white wedge tent waited for the return of a backcountry hunter who spent the morning chasing ducks on the River Raisin. The image of the tiny abode brings back many fond memories of time traveling adventures set in the Old Northwest Territory in the early 1790s. I long for a humble base camp, the smell of fall and a few hours dedicated to nothing more than stepping over time’s threshold…
